The Story
North To South Quilts has its roots in family! It all started with a misunderstanding. Somehow, I got it in my head that my great-grandmother was a quilter. I don't know why I thought that, but I felt inspired to connect with Marie. My middle name is for her, so I wanted to connect since I didn't know her very well. I decided I would be a quilter and carry on a tradition. Turns out she wasn't a quilter at all! I was hooked though, and I've been quilting more and more since 2020. I've also been teaching my mom to quilt! You might find some projects and shop items from her here as well. I'm based in Minnesota and Mom is in Texas, hence the Noth To South name.

I made my first quilt during a winter break in college. It was definitely a learning experience, but that bold Christmas patterned quilt has been with me for over 10 years! It's a little worn out after all these years, but it's still my favorite blanket to curl up with on a chilly night.
